Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Pastor ENOCH ADEBOYE, Founder of REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD

Embodiment of Humility and Soul Winning
In Nigeria today, there are more than 50 such powerful pastors whose areas of specialty include miracles, prophecy, healing, teaching, preaching, and marriage counselling, and they attract people with such needs. They include Pastor Enoch Adeboye, a humble man and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Born on March 2, 1942, this mathematician-turned-preacher has impacted the lives of millions of Nigerians with his monthly Holy Ghost Night programme. Adeboye joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1973 and served as an interpreter before he was ordained as a pastor in the church by Pa. Josiah Akindayomi in 1975. He became the General Overseer of the church in 1981 and has grown it from a small church into a massive international movement under his leadership, emphasizing faith, holiness, and community service, with more than 14,000,000 worshippers in Nigeria. On every first Friday of the month, all roads virtually lead to the “Redeemed Camp” at Kilometer 46 on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, the venue of the crusade. The programme attracts thousands of miracle seekers every month, who come from places such as Kaduna, Benue, Ilorin, Ibadan, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.
The RCCG is one of the fastest-growing churches in Nigeria, with branches in all 36 states of the federation, as well as in Europe and the United States. In Lagos alone, nearly every street has a branch or fellowship centre of the church. It has been said that this reflects Adeboye’s vision to spread the gospel.
